Early Childhood Family Education (ECFE) at the Edina Family Center is a Community Education Service of the Edina Public Schools and is the first connection between families and the school district. The Edina Family Center's primary mission is to provide ECFE programming, which is unique to Minnesota and is offered in over 300 school districts throughout the state. ECFE courses include developmentally appropriate activities provided by an early childhood teacher, learning through play and parent discussion led by a licensed parent educator.
As a 501(c)(3) non-profit, the Parent Teacher Organization organizes a fundraising gala biennially to provide scholarships, enhance the curriculum and offer classroom improvements to the ECFE program. In fact, thanks to people like you, the combined 2013 and 2015 events have provided nearly $100,000 in scholarships; classroom, playground, and gym equipment; and curriculum enhancements, as well as several free community building events. At the 2017 Star Gala, we anticipate 250 guests to celebrate with us and raise money to support this unparalleled program through the 2018/19 school year.
